SPECIAL SESSION
Abstract
Water and energy are critical issues for the economic development of sensitive areas. Their production from renewable local resources is essential for people and the preservation of their local resources. Thus, the development of tools and techniques for modelling and simulation is essential to implement models of knowledge and to allow a rational and efficient use of energy and water resources. Moreover, the methods of simulation and optimization can help to develop new ideas and approaches to the problems of water and energy production. Similarly, simulation and modelling applied to building can lead to innovative concepts of high performance building and design methods. This session will consider methods of simulation and optimisation like neural networks, multifractals, and physics models dedicated to energy and water production.
Biography of the Presenter
Philippe POGGI has a BSc and an MSc from the University of Nice (F) and a PhD degree from the University of Corsica (F). He has research interests in various aspects of Renewable Energy Sources and Systems, particularly in the fields of solar and wind speed potential simulation and prediction and modelling, simulating, and optimising renewable energy systems, like photovoltaic and wind farm, in grid-connected mode and associated with storage (like hydrogen and fuel cells, and hydraulics). He is currently director of two MSc programs (Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development) at the University of Corsica.
