Welcome Reception
For those delegates who arrive early, there will be a small reception held on Sunday, September 7th, in the GICC (Gaborone International Convention Centre) building of the Grand Palm Resort, beginning at 19:00. This reception will provide you with the opportunity to meet some of the other delegates and enjoy some delicious hors d'oeuvres and drinks.
Tour: Bush Braai
This optional tour will take place at the Mokolodi Game Reserve, which is located about 14 km from the Grand Palm Resort. The University of Botswana will be providing bus rides to the Reserve free of charge.
The tour, which will be taking place at 16:00 on September 8th, 2008, will include the following:
- A welcome drink
- Two-hour game drive on Safari trucks
- Bush Braai (barbeque) with plenty of meat near a roaring bonfire and sparkling lake (note: vegetarians must inform us in advance of dietary needs, so appropriate substitutions can be made)
- A full bar set up at the Bush Braai site (with a few complimentary drinks)
- Entertainment provided by traditional Botswanan dancers
